Range Rules

- Safety First! Safe handling of firearms will always be performed.
- Proper safety equipment must always be used by shooters and spectators.
- No alcohol or drugs allowed on the range property.
- No people under the influence of alcohol or drugs are allowed on the range property at any time.
- This is a cold range, KEEP every weapon unloaded unless on the firing line.
- Ensure people, wildlife and livestock are clear of downrange before firing.
- All shooting in the bays must be done from within the berms. No shooting from the roadway or over other bays or berms.
- Members (and their guests) are the only authorized users of the LCHG range property.
- Ensure the gate is closed and always locked (unless there is an ongoing board approved event).
- Plate racks are to be shot only with traditional standard straight walled pistol cartridges. Rifle ammunition, magnum handguns and slugs are not to be fired at the plate rack targets.
- The use of tracer, armor piercing, or incendiary type ammunition is not allowed at any time.
- No exploding targets!
- Do not shoot at rocks, trees, shrubs, or bottles.
- Props (excluding plate racks) are to be used for matches and LCHG organized events only.
- Building use is restricted to those requiring access for matches and any other board authorized events.
- Board approved events and matches have priority – please check the calendar on the LCHG website to avoid conflict.
- Clean up after yourself – do not leave used targets or trash on the range.
- Shooting is allowed during daylight hours only unless there is a board approved special event.
- No open fires, no camping, and use caution while smoking.
- Activities by outside groups, clubs, etc. must have prior approval from the LCHG Officers.
- Any violation of these rules is grounds for revocation of membership to the range. Negligent destruction of LCHG property will be prosecuted.
